　　終於！在連續七周的雨傘冠軍週之後，Rihanna 的 Umbrella 被來自芝加哥的 Plain White T’s (中文是「就是白樂團」) 的 Hey There Delilah 這首對女孩溫柔細語的歌曲硬生生的打了下來。Hey There Delilah這首歌從2007年的June23(年輕小伙子和粗曠女聲)這周的榜單開始大幅前進，從原本十六名跑到了第六名的位置，然後June30跑到第五名，July07這周又前進到第四名，July14這周又悄悄到第三名，上周(July21)又跑到第二名，而本周終於登上冠軍！原來他們從六周前，就開始悄悄一名一名地往冠軍之路邁進，嗯！厲害！是時候仔細聽這首歌了。

　
　　這首歌在Wikipedia歸類的風格為Acoustic和Alternative rock，最開始是在Plain White T’s於2005年發行的專輯「All That We Needed」(台灣似乎沒有代理，但2006年發行的「Hey there Delilah」單曲可在KKBOX聽)裡放在最後一首，當時是第三主打。本來都是獨立發行的他們，直到兩年後、也就是今年六月，這首歌慢慢被發現，才真的成為這個樂團的第一首打入美國流行音樂市場的歌曲，我想應該跌破不少人的眼鏡吧！

　　這首歌是由主唱Tom Higgenson寫的，Tom Higgenson在1999年曾發生過一場差點奪了他的命的車禍，可能因此讓他更積極面對生命，也讓他的創作因為此次大傷(?)，而更有感情，整首歌以一把木吉他，配上大調和聲，吉他整齊的拍子加上像說話般的主旋律，好像在耳邊唱給你聽一樣，帶給聽眾淡淡的、極為內斂的悲傷和對生命與夢想的喜悅，加上看他的歌詞，真的是會飆淚。以下是小妹大概翻譯的歌詞，請大家隨便看看。若發現不對的地方，希望能跟我說，因為我英文沒有很好，只是對這首歌太感動了。

背後的故事：

　　這首歌裡面提到的 Delilah 其實真有其人，是個畢業於哥倫比亞大學、且是明年奧運的障礙賽參賽者 Delilah DiCrescenzo。她跟 Plain White T’s 的主唱(也是這首歌的創作者)Tom Higgenson 其實並沒有戀愛，是在經由他們共同的朋友介紹彼此、認識之後，Tom 突然就有了這個靈感，想為她寫一首歌。他說 Delilah DiCrescenzo 是他見過最美的女人(但我在網路上找不到照片)，有點可笑有點悲傷，因為這首歌講的深情，其實並不是真的。以下是他受訪所說的：

“There was never anything between us. It was kind of funny — kind of sad, actually. The story of my life… I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I told her, ‘I have a song about you already.’ Obviously, there was no song. But I thought it was smooth.”

　　Delilah DiCrescenzo並沒有因為這首歌愛上Tom，她其實已經有男朋友了，所以因為這首歌，也帶給她一些困擾。以下是她的回應：

“It was so beautifully written”, she says. “There was pressure to live up to this ideal. I didn’t know how to be polite but, you know, ditch him.”
